Young Farmers Program

The future of local farming depends on the next generation. We've created the Young Farmers Program to expose children to the wonder and importance of small-scale agriculture. Our diverse farm offers unlimited opportunities for children to explore the many aspects of sustainable living.

Beginning with the 2009 season, families staying at our B&B for two or more nights receive a packet filled with coloring and activity books and educational materials about farming. Children of all ages are invited to earn the Official Dog Mountain Farm Young Farmer certificate.

Younger children do a learning quest, help with farm chores, and complete picture worksheets. Older children have fun doing chores, creating quests, and learning about the importance of sustainable agriculture through workbook activities and talking with the farmers.
